English Speech about Technology

Assalamu’alaikum wr.wb.

The honorable Mr. Djaenudin as the Head master of SMA PGRI 2 Kajen, the honorable to the teachers, and also my beloved friends.

First of all, let’s pray worship and gratitude to Allah SWT, because of His mercy, we can gather here, in this afternoon without any troubles.

Secondly, don’t forget prise sholawat and salaam to our Prophet, Muhammad SAW, who has guided peoples from darkness to the lightness like we feel on this day.

Then, thanks to the committee for giving me the opportunity to deliver my speech.

In this occasion, let me deliver my speech entitled "The development of computers from the first generation until now".

Ladies and gentleman,

As we know, technology is growing rapidly and there are updated of some aspects. 
Over time, created great and modern technology, like a computer. Computer is a tool that is used to process data accordance with the instructions given. However, don’t you think that the display of a computer in this time  doesn’t through a long process? Of course not. The renewal stages of a computer will be the topic that I discussed in my speech today.

First, is the first generation of computers since 1944-1959. Computer in this generation still very simple and can’t process complex problems. The size is very large and the process is still slow.

The computer using vacuum tubes to process and store data. Thousands of vacuum tubes required to operate a computer whose function is to help scientists solve mathematical calculations quickly and accurately. The example is ENIAC.

Next, the second generation of computers since 1960-1964. Computer in this generation using transistors and diodes to replace vacuum tubes. The computer using magnetic storage. The processing speed is faster and the size is smaller than the first generation. The computer in this generation used to process data in commerce, universities, and military.

The example is IBM 700.

Then, the third generation of computers since 1964-1975. The computer in this generation is created by combining multiple components in one place. On the computer, the memory storage is larger and placed outside. The use of electricity is more efficient than the previous generation computers. The size becomes smaller, and began using IC or a chip. This computer can be used to multiprogram.

The example is Apple II

After that, the fourth generation of computers since 1975-Now. The computer in this generation still using IC or chip to processing and data storage. The computer is more advanced because in it there are hundreds thousands of transistor components. Data processing can be done more quickly. The media storage is higher than previous generations. The computer often called a microcomputer.

The example is PC (Personal Computer).

And the last, the fifth generation of computers, since now-future. The computer in this generation is yet to be realized because it still a dream. The manufacture form of this computer will be more complex. It have a big memory. The computer estimated have more processing units that can solve more than one problem at a time.

In conclusion, computers have done renewal 4 times. Reforms are happening in every aspect, such as components, size, and function that creates a modern computer like we see today. While the fifth generation computer is still a dream.

Ladies and gentleman, I think that’s all for my speech today. I hope we can learn something from my speech, like grateful to anything that already given by the God. I’m sorry if I made a lot of mistakes, and finally

Ladies and gentlemen, In this opportunity I'd like to present a speech about the effect of advance technology to our life.  This a new era. An era where people connect each other easily. It's very easy to talk with someone in different place, town, city, even different country. We can talk through mobile phone if we need to talk with our parents, friends, even someone we miss out there. We can hang out without facing them. We can also chat through real time message by sending sms, chat box at facebook, google plus, BBM, yahoo messenger and many other social media suplying instant text messages. Those didn't happen several years ago. If we wanted to talk with someone, we have to visit him/her. If we needed to know someone's condition we had to send a letter. It needed a time to do. But now, everything is different. If we want to know something now, we'll get it in real time. Advance technology has made it different. We have to admit that advance technology brings many possitive effect to our life.  The first, we can connect easily and quickly to people in different places using telephone, mobile phone, voice chat, video chat, text chat and email. The second, we know the latest news very fast. We know what happen in Jakarta, Bandung, even in Jayapura through news in the internet and television. We also easily know what is happening in USA, Europe and the other countries. The third, we don't need to ask people about something we don't know. We can ask search engine like Google, Bing, or Yahoo. We won't get lost the way anymore because we have google maps in our mobile phone or using GPS. But, unfortunately, there are some bad effects of advance technology. We have to be aware and careful of them. What are they? The first, advance technology make us forget our real life. There are so much times spending in social media to chat in unreal world. People begin to ignore someone near him. They are busy with the gadget.

There are no more talking in the living room to talk about life or just kidding build a warm relationship. Everybody is busy with mobile phone to send text, BBM, or updating status. The second, advance technology make us break the culture limitation. You know, it's prohibited to pass through one's bedroom, righ? But, gadget make us forget the rule. We can access easily using video call and video chat to one's private room. And, the girls and boys talk freely through mobile phone without worrying parents anger. The third, advance technology brings threats to life. The criminals easily know the victims and plan to do something bad. Advance techonology is also used as a way to scam other people. Someone can make malware or virus to spy someone's gadget to steal data. Frightening, isn't it? Ladies and gentleman, Now, we know the bad and good effects of advance technology. We can get the good effects. But don't forget the bad one. Once more, I tell you that we have to be aware of the negative effects and try to minimize them so that our life will be safer and quieter. I think that's all my speech. Thanks for your attention.

First of all, let’s thank God, the Almighty who has been giving us His mercy and blessings till we can attend this meeting without any obstacle in this good place and time.
Secondly, May Sholawat and Salam always be with our Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him, who has guided us from the darkness to the lightness in the world as well as in the next world.

Thirdly, I will never forget to thank Mr. Chairman who has given me the opportunity to deliver my speech in front of you all.
Standing in front of you all, I would like to present my speech under the title of: “THE DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY”

The development of technology - can not be denied if the advancement of today's technology is developing very rapidly . This can be evidenced by the many innovations that have been made ​​in this world . From the simple one up to the tremendous one.

Advances in technology are very important for human life today . Because the technology is one of supporting human progress . In many parts of society , technology has helped improve the economy , food , computers , and much more .

Actually, technology has existed since a long time, the ancient Roman times . Technological developments drastically evolved and continues to evolve today.  Such as creating the objects , techniques that can assist humans in workmanship something more efficient and faster . One of the examples in Indonesia , namely the phenomenon of car ESEMKA which are created several schools in Solo . National car has made innovations to Indonesia . In addition , there are at Sidoarjo which produces ships for fishing needs .

This is proof that indeed technology has become a necessity and evenly in every sector of human life . Especially after the invention of computers and laptops , which are now almost all human work has a relationship with a computer or laptop . So it is appropriate that the computer is the most cutting-edge discoveries and the most influence on human life .


Ladies and Gentlemen

Some people assume that technological progress at this time has a negative impact to human life itself. Like the natural damage that occurs due to forest cutting technology using heavy equipment . Conditions like these that cause people to consider technological advances have a negative impact .

On the other hand , many people who think technology has a major role in improving the quality of human life in this world . For that technology should still be pursued to continue to grow .

However , in general the technology should be developed in an effort to continue to seek innovation as improvement of human life . Therefore , the purpose of technology is to improve the quality of human life without destroying the natural environment around us .

Therefore , we can conclude there are some benefits that can be inferred , which are:
Helping people to resolve their various jobs better and more efficiently, Motivates people to keep thinking to make changes and improvements in creating new technologies, Help people get to know the history and predict the phenomenon will occur in the future . Like predicting the occurrence of solar and lunar eclipses , predict events that occurred in the solar system or also predict natural disasters .
